I would like to thank The Miniature Dachshund Club for inviting me to judge. I would also like to thank exhibitors for their entry. I thoroughly enjoyed the day, the beautiful venue and friendly atmosphere; it was so refreshing to see people applauding around the ring. Generally all the dogs were well turned out and in good condition, that saying, I did notice that quite a few exhibits had wrinkles which seem to be creeping in, I would also like to see more muscle condition. Hind movement on some exhibits demonstrated a flick on of the legs before placing the foot on the ground. I was pleased to see my BOB to go BIS as well as BPIB being awarded RBPIS. Congratulations to all the winners. MinI Smooth Haired: PD (2) 1 Houghton's Hollygor Bradley Wiggins; 10mth old dog with nice head and expression. Good length of neck. Nice proportions and well balanced. Good shoulders and front angulation. Nice length of ribbing. He moved well and held a good top line. Won the class on movement. RBPIB. 2 Wyeth's Danton Cappuccino; 9mth old dog of nice proportions. Good length of neck and nice shoulders. Good length of ribbing and good angulation. Preferred movement of 1st. PGD (5,2) 1 Muggleton's Mosiarto Mister Valentino JW; 21mth old dog of very good proportions. Nice masculine head, good length of neck flowing to good shoulders. Nice long ribbing and short loin. Correct clearance. Held his top line on the move and moved with drive. Loved his attitude. BOB & BIS. 2 Startup's Curtisay Head Gardner; Another nice 21mth old dog. Not as balanced as no 1 but had nice masculine head, good length of neck. Would prefer more length of ribbing. Moved out well driving from behind. LD (3,1) 1 Carey's Swingletrees Abracadabra; 5yr old dog. Nice masculine head. Good front with good length of keel. Nice short loin. Moved strongly, with good drive from well-muscled behind. 2 Phillips' Arbennik St Thomas of Robinswood; Just over 4 year old dog. Well balanced and good ground clearance. Nice masculine head. Good length of ribbing, good rear angulation, unfortunately did not move as soundly as 1st. OD (2) 1 Fossett's & Kent's Lokmadi Boy Named Sue JW: 3.5 b/t dog. Not my usual type. Well balanced. Good head and expression, nice length of neck flowing to good shoulder. Would prefer a shorter loin. Good hind angulation. Moved powerfully covering the ground and holding his top line. Expertly handled bringing out the best of this boy. 2 Protheroe's Royalmaple Anky Panky; Another nice exhibit, 2 year old dog, well balanced and proportions. Would like more refined head, nice long neck, good lay of shoulder. Good hind quarters. Unfortunately did not move as well as 1st. PB (9,2) 1 Hunt's Carpaccio Midnight Lace; 9,mth nice balanced bitch. Would prefer more refined head. Nice long neck and good lay of shoulder. Nice length of keel and ribbing. Nice turn of stifle and good hind angulation. Held a good top line on the move.BP & RBIS. 2 Phillips' Clipperdown Naughty Nell; nice 9mth old bitch again of good propotions. Nice feminine head and nice long neck flowing to good shoulders. Nice length of ribbing. Unfortunately she did not move out as well as 1st. JB (5,1) 1 Price's Samlane Desdemona; lovely red bitch, feminine head with nice pigmentation. Nice clean neck running into well laid shoulders. Well ribbed and nice short loin. Tight little package with full rump and strong quarters. Unfortunately heat seemed to have won her over today. Moved nicely, holding a very good top line. RBOB. PGB (5,2) 1 Sapphire Crystal Girl of Debbiejay; 6 year old bitch. Nice head and expression. There was nothing exaggerated with this girl. Good shoulders, nice length of ribbing, nice short loin, correct hind angulation and she moved out well. 2 Robertson's Ravenwood Simply Exquisite; 1.5 year old bitch. A very happy girl. Nice feminine head and good length of neck. Would prefer better lay of shoulder. Good length of ribbing and nice hind angulation. Not moving parallel but carried a good topline. LB (6,3) 1 Hollands' Lokmadi Morning Cloud at Zarosa; Lovely balance bitch. Nice feminine head, good front, & shoulders, good length of ribbing. Kept a good top line on the move. Moved well with plenty of drive from the rear. 2 Robertson's Ravenwood Courtesan; Just over 2 year old bitch of good propotions. Nice head and expression. Nice long neck flowing to good shoulders. Nice length of ribbing, good turn of stifle. Unfortunately hind movement did not match 1st. OB (1) 1 Muggleton's Mosiarto Miss Calclulate; 2.5 year old bitch. Full of confidence. Nice feminine head and expression. Long neck flowing to good shoulders. Nice length of ribbing and keel. Nicely balanced and of correct proportions. Moved out nicely but lost little top line on the move. Nicely muscled rump. Minna Hagan
